An Amazing amount of work went into Seattle City Scape I. Needle felted in its entirety by hand, combining various wools and silks. Its fiberous layers build upon and around each other, in and out of various yarns, that create shadow and dimension against its darkened sky at dusk background; starlit crystals grace the skies. Little crystal doorknobs glisten in the night and you can see, way in the distance, atop of Seattle’s Space Needle flickers a Swarovski Crystal.
Seattle City Scape is hanging from a very unique piece of raisin stained driftwood found by Driftwood Shores, WA; backed and ready for hanging.

Done in mainly Silks & Merino wool, this ‘award winning’ work of art is needle felted in its entirety by hand. Its layers build on and next to each other, creating a bit of a shadow effect, whilst the sheen off of the silks adds height in dimension. All against its black haunting background of a night the last plumbs fell.

Red Night’s Dance is a very special piece created in gratitude for someone very special, who absolutely loves Red. Needle felted in its entirety by hand, combining various wools and silks. Its ebb and flow wonders over this galaxy of various fibers, lacy & delicate yarns, strung orbit like TieDye glass beads, dancing with felted geodes.

Remember the fun little saying,
                                                                                                                     There Was A Crooked . . .
house that sat on a crooked street, in a crooked valley with a crooked little pond, owned by a little crooked boy, who hung from a crooked moon, fishing for his crooked little fish.
Fine fibers and yarns are utilized to create this unusual story piece. Akasya loves to create work to show off the dimensionality of fibers by allowing specific elements of the piece to flow over its frame; as you can see by the pond and the corner of the house featured.

Iris & Peony were a blast to create using so many different type of felting techniques. Amongst all of the beautiful fibers sets little Swarovski crystal Stamen & Pistols. Don’t you love the script-like single needle vine stitchery!
